Marine Engine Repair Technician
Job Description:
As a Marine Engine Repair Technician at Florida Keys Mobile Marine your primary responsibility is to diagnose, repair, and maintain marine engines and related systems to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our clients' vessels. You will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for providing top-quality marine engine services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough diagnostics of marine engines to identify and troubleshoot issues, including mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems.
- Perform a wide range of repairs on marine engines, including two-stroke and four-stroke outboard motors, inboard engines, sterndrives, and shaft drives.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble engine components, such as pistons, cylinder heads, fuel systems, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections, to prevent issues and ensure optimal engine performance.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to aid in engine diagnostics and repairs.
- Perform precision adjustments and tune-ups to optimize engine efficiency and fuel consumption.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all service and repair work, including parts used and labor hours.
- Provide recommendations to clients for preventive maintenance and repairs based on your assessments.
- Ensure that all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Marine Engine Technician or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in marine engine repair, including both outboard and inboard engines.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and address complex engine issues.
- Familiarity with a wide range of marine engine brands, models, and systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools for engine analysis.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to safety, adherence to environmental regulations, and awareness of best practices in the marine industry.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to reach service locations.
